The Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church of Asheville proudly presents our 28th annual Greek Festival, September 26, 27 & 28 . Friday & Saturday 11 AM- 9 PM & Sunday 11 AM-7 PM. From the city/county plaza to MLK park, we are now located at our home in the Historic Montford District 227 Cumberland Avenue , and we warmly welcome you to come and share in the festivities! Sample some of our traditional foods like Lamb Shank, Pastichio, Spanakopita, Gyro & souvlaki and pastries like Baklava, Kourambiethes, Galatoboureko and Loukoumathes, while enjoying the sounds of our music. Or browse through the "agora" (marketplace) as if you were strolling through the coble stone streets of the villages of our ancestors while catching a live performance of our talented dancers who carry on the traditions of many years ago. Take a tour of our church, that is deep in history in itself . These are the traditions of our Greek life as are the "panigiri" (festival). BARNAROO 2014   [Fairs & Festivals]

Grassroots Youth-inspired music festival perpetuating the support, growth and development of local and regional youth music. BARNAROO is a one day family friendly music festival featuring more than ten local and regional bands. BARNAROO was founded by 16 year-old Andrew Scotchie and family in 2009 as a private, single day mini-festival, and has continued to grow in size annually. In 2013, Asheville BARNAROO moved to a larger venue at Franny’s Farm, located 10 miles from Asheville. The tent-covered main stage stands at the event center outside location & in BARNAROO tradition, a secondary stage is inside the barn. In the spirit of youth music development, BARNAROO will return a percentage of proceeds to Asheville Music School. A Silent Auction featuring donated art works from local crafters and tattoo artist will benefit Andrew Scotchie and the River Rats trip to the National Battle of the Bands in LA this November. Yes!
