An e-mail was sent from his campaign to his supporters, stating he needed to place family ahead of politics. Dunn has not announced his decision publicly, however, a member of the Asheville Republican party confirmed that he indeed was no longer in the running. It is not known whether another Republican will be able to get on the ballot before elections in November.
