LEAF Returns to Camp Rockmont with the Indigo Girls, October 20-23

ASHEVILLE, NC – Discover the magic of the 31st LEAF (Lake Eden Arts Festival) with folk icons The Indigo Girls, the global music movement Playing For Change, and featured Caribean Traditions artists from Haiti- Boukman Eksperyman. and Bonga & Vodou Drums of Haiti.

Be a LEAFer and connect music, art and culture the weekend of October 14th-17th at Camp Rockmont in Black Mountain.  The 31st LEAF welcomes the Indigo Girls to the festival to celebrate and share some of their songs from their new release Staring Down the Brilliant Dream. A flavor of island spice will permeate the fall festival with several *Caribbean Traditions Special performing artists, which is supported in part by *National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) and **Southern Arts Federation (SAF) grants.  And LEAF’s very own neighbors, Swannanoa Gathering, showcase a sampling of their talents. A weekend at LEAF is the equivalent of going on a year-long multi-cultural musical and dance odyssey.

LEAF’s music is but one thread that holds together the cloth of a weekend experience that includes art and culture from around the world, and right here, for the entire family.  LEAF’s recent expansion of its “LEAFlet Kids Village” allows families with children to share the experience from the eyes of a child with their own stages for “kids” music, workshops and interactive area such as the “LIPZ- LEAF Instrument Petting Zoo”, unicycle craziness, kids talent stage and many more playful adventures.
