WNC Chefs Challenge 2013

Each Tuesday night from February 12 to April 30, the WNC Chefs Challenge features 2 teams of chefs (1 Executive Chef and 2 Sous-Chef de Cuisine on each team) in competition for the "Best Chef in WNC". This is a total of 16 different teams of checf throughout the competition. The challenge involves preparing small plated dishes for up to 100 patrons each night. You and a panel of "professional judges" get to score the dishes and decide which team moves forward to the next competition!

Tickets are $49 per individual, plus sales tax, and gratuity ($67.97 total) are included in ticket purchase. Beverages may be purchased separately at the Chestnut Restaurant.

The "WNC Chefs Challenge" will take place at Chestnut Restaurant, 48 Biltmore Avenue, Asheville, NC 28801 each Tuesday night (seating starts at 6:00 with the action beginning at 6:30) from February 12 to April 30th, 2012.

The BMW Riders Association is pleased to announce our return to Americas Castle in 2013. Many will remember our 2007 rally at this same location and have been asking since, When are we going back?

Travel to Asheville, considered one of the most eclectic cities around. Not only will rally goers have full run of the Biltmore Estate, but Asheville offers a wide variety of shops, eating establishments and outdoor activities. Zip lining, white water rafting and hundreds of hiking and biking trails await all.

Disclaimer Comedy & Charlotte St. Computers are proud to present Kyle Kinane & Friends on Wed., June 26 at the Dirty South Lounge inside The Southern in downtown Asheville, NC. Asheville comedian Minori Hinds will also be performing.
The show will be at 9 p.m., and doors will open at 8 p.m. Tickets are $14. Tickets will be available at the door if available, but it's highly recommended that you secure a ticket in advance.
Comedian Kyle Kinane was last seen in Asheville as a featured performer in the 2011 Laugh Your Asheville Off comedy festival (and prior to that, crushing at the Orange Peel where he opened for Patton Oswalt).
Coming on-stage with a gruff demeanor and a booze-swiller's bad-ass attitude, Kinane surprises newcomers with his unexpectedly well-crafted standup sets. Born in Chicago, Kinane first tried his hand at comedy while attending Columbia College, influenced by the loose yet confident work of Mitch Hedberg and Patton Oswalt. Falco was raised in the country, between Whelen Springs and Gurdon, Arkansas, and moved to Memphis, Tennessee, in 1973. He started the nonprofit Televista "art-action" video group in Memphis to document local musicians and artists in the mid 1970s with fellow Arkansas poet, performance artist, and videographer Randall Lyon. Falco and Lyon were both heavily influenced by the work of their mentor and friend, noted Memphis color photographer William Eggleston. Description: Asheville Creative Arts Presents A YEAR WITH FROG AND TOAD Music by Robert Reale Book/Lyrics by Willie Reale Based on the Books by Arnold Lobel Directed & Choreographed by Robbie Jaeger Based on the beloved books by Arnold Lobel, this musical follows the woodland adventures of two amphibious friends, a worrywart toad and a perky frog, with their colorful, hopping and flying companions over the course of one year. Starring: Ashby Blakely and Ian Michael Johnson as the title characters; and Caroline Bower, Maria Buchanan, and Robbie Jaeger as their companions. The creative team includes sets by Rebecca Primm, costumes by Robbie Jaeger, and the show will be stage managed and assistant directed by Matt Cosper.

Throw in two meathead investors trying to keep him under control, his voluptuous assistant trying to keep the investors at bay, his creepy sous chef who no one is quite sure about, unsuspecting diners who have no idea what they are in for, a smarmy reality TV producer who is filming a pilot of the whole shebang, saute and mix–and you have one fascinating show about the troubled genius of modern cuisine: Caro Savanti!
