Free.  Are you interested in Systemic Constellations but not ready for a full day workshop? This Constellations Taster Evening is for you! Dip your toe into the Knowing Field. It's a fun, eye-opening evening!  Systemic Constellation is an effective method for working with trans-generational issues and repeating patterns that show up in the family by increasing the flows of Love in your family system, easing the blockages to the flows of Love. A Family Constellation Workshop is a beautiful and gentle way to bring the real issues in your family system to light and to encourage them to transform. Systemic Family Constellations began in Germany in the early 1980s, and are the life work of Bert Hellinger, psychotherapist. Systemic Family Constellation is a popular, known therapy worldwide and is now gaining traction in the US.  What is Family Constellation and how does it work?  During a Systemic Family Constellation workshop, we gather as a sacred circle of individuals in service to our families and to each others' families. If you have an issue you want to look at in your family system, I will ask you some basic questions about your family system: Who was excluded? Did anyone die at a young age? Was anyone forgotten? When I have a sense of where the issue might be centered, I ask you to chose people from the group to represent your family members, issues, events, or even places which might have a bearing on the issue. I will ask you to place each representative in the working space in the manner in which it feels 'right' to you.  When a representative is placed, they are connected to the Knowing Field of your family system. They begin to relate to one another in very specific visual and spatial ways. From these relationships, we can see what cannot normally be seen about the inner workings of the system, and we can see where blockages occur. By nudging the system and by encouraging representatives to use Healing Statements of simple truth about what is, we strengthen the system and increase the flows of love within it. Systemic Constellation is one of the only methods for examining and modifying trans-generational patterns within the family system. To have a successful constellation you don't need to bring any other members of your family with you! We can do deep work in constellations because you bring the complete Knowing Field of your family system with you. We work with the system itself when we do a constellation. You can bring any issue to the workshop to be constellated. In the past, clients have looked at issues such as these: Repeating Patterns Across The Generations Addiction Estrangement Loss of Fortune Repercussions of Immigration Physical Pain which defies treatment Eating Disorders and many more Constellation work looks into the systemic aspects of the issue, that is, the parts of the issue which lie in the system itself, rather than in individuals.

Join us in an effort to destigmatize heroin & opioid addiction, and to learn to care for those around us who are struggling with it. This begins by getting stereotypes and fears out of the way, so that we can develop an honest understanding what opioid & heroin addiction actually looks like.  This seminar, co-facilitated by SeekHealing Executive Director Jennifer Nicolaisen and Harm Reduction Specialist Khyrstyne Williams, will explain what opioids are, describe the many different types that exist, and clarify how and why people use them. We'll explore uncomfortable questions about why some people get addicted and others don’t, and introduce you to some core harm reduction principles that will reframe your concept of addiction — a framework that demands more compassion for both yourself and the people around you.  We’ll also talk about the biological details of what happens during an overdose, as well as what happens in a person’s body during detox/withdrawal. We’ll illuminate some uncomfortable realities of the addiction rehab industry and explain why the new framework is necessary. As part of this training, you will receive a Naloxone overdose reversal kit and training in how to use it. This is a no questions asked, donation-based course that is open to all. We kindly ask that you choose a donation amount that feels appropriate for you from $0-$40. Any contribution will go directly to paying for Naloxone kits and other operating costs. Donate here: https://seekhealing.kindful.com/ Opioid Addiction 101 will be held at the Goodwill Workforce Development Center on Patton Ave, in room 181.

This class bundle includes the one-time, three-hour Childbirth Refresher Class and the one time Welcome Baby Sibling Class. The Childbirth Refresher Class is for women who have given birth previously.  We will cover what to pack, signs of labor, coping techniques, hands-on comfort measures, labor positons, birth preferences and informed consent, and ideas for sibling integration and postpartum planning. Many families need support for siblings with a new baby. The Sibling Class is designed for you to learn about integrating the new baby to the mix, together with your children. Come to class with your older children and learn ways to welcome the new baby, how siblings can help with the day-to-day tasks a newborn requires, transitioning to a family of four or more, and how to prepare children for the birth of their new brother or sister.  The class will focus on what to expect, the changing family dynamics, challenges with older children such as toilet training and sleep.   Select a Sibling Class to attend - you may attend the sibling class whenever it fits your schedule, prior to, after, or in the same month you attend your Refresher class. The children will paint a onesie for the new baby and create a big brother/sister tee shirt for themselves. They will also receive "I'm the Big Brother/Sister" certificate upon completing the class  This class is appropriate for kids 2 and older.   For this bundle you will pick the date of your refresher class and during checkout you will pick the Saturday for your Sibling Class. Description:
Why take a Homegrown Babies 3 day long Birth Doula training?   Our Doulas feel confident and prepared to begin doulaing immediately by the completion of the course. The Doula skills you will learn are adaptable to many settings, birth experiences, and outcomes. Expect the unexpected! Chama is dedicated to providing the highest level of adult education and is able to provide an individual experience at your training.  Whole brain learning! The course is designed using modern teaching methods that involve and engage the learner. You don’t just sit and take notes. Instead, you’ll be moving around the room, doing small group activities, and having fun. People learn best in social environments when they feel a sense of purpose and can show mastery over the new skills they’ve learned. The printed manual is 270 plus pages of useful handouts and reference materials, with an additional 30 pages of Homegrown handouts. You’ll meet people who are different from you who also want to learn doula skills! Doulas are needed in every community. Only by working together can we help to spread the word that people’s emotional needs in labor are important. All parents birthing babies are respected and so are the wide range of choices people make. But that may not be easy to implement in real life! So we learn how to do that together in a safe way, and figure out our own personal limits. (No one is the best doula for everyone! Not even me!) Evidence-based skills! You learn what works and why, from someone who reads new scientific literature on a monthly basis. Three days! Studies of behavioral change from Stanford University show that it takes three days to create lasting change, cement new skills, and transform attitudes. The Family Constellation Workshop is a beautiful way to bring the real issues in your family system to light.
