Description:
This class bundle includes the one-time, three-hour Childbirth Refresher Class and the one time Welcome Baby Sibling Class. The Childbirth Refresher Class is for women who have given birth previously.  We will cover what to pack, signs of labor, coping techniques, hands-on comfort measures, labor positons, birth preferences and informed consent, and ideas for sibling integration and postpartum planning. Many families need support for siblings with a new baby. The Sibling Class is designed for you to learn about integrating the new baby to the mix, together with your children. Come to class with your older children and learn ways to welcome the new baby, how siblings can help with the day-to-day tasks a newborn requires, transitioning to a family of four or more, and how to prepare children for the birth of their new brother or sister.  The class will focus on what to expect, the changing family dynamics, challenges with older children such as toilet training and sleep.   Select a Sibling Class to attend - you may attend the sibling class whenever it fits your schedule, prior to, after, or in the same month you attend your Refresher class. The children will paint a onesie for the new baby and create a big brother/sister tee shirt for themselves. They will also receive "I'm the Big Brother/Sister" certificate upon completing the class  This class is appropriate for kids 2 and older.   For this bundle you will pick the date of your refresher class and during checkout you will pick the Saturday for your Sibling Class. You can choose to attend the Sibling Class during the same month as your Refresher class, prior to or after your Refresher class - whatever fits your schedule. And now for the fine print...Because our classes often sell out, we do not offer refunds or transfers for non-medical reasons, so please be sure you can attend the class you register for! If you choose to register for class that will begin after 37 weeks, there are no refunds if your baby arrives beforehand.

The Family Constellation Workshop is a beautiful way to bring the real issues in your family system to light. Systemic Constellation is an effective method for working with trans-generational issues and repeating patterns that show up in the family by increasing the flows of Love in your family system, easing the blockages to the flows of Love. A Family Constellation Workshop is a beautiful and gentle way to bring the real issues in your family system to light and to encourage them to transform. Systemic Family Constellations began in Germany in the early 1980s, and are the life work of Bert Hellinger, psychotherapist. Systemic Family Constellation is a popular, known therapy worldwide and is now gaining traction in the US.  What is Family Constellation and how does it work?  During a Systemic Family Constellation workshop, we gather as a sacred circle of individuals in service to our families and to each others' families. If you have an issue you want to look at in your family system, I will ask you some basic questions about your family system: Who was excluded? Did anyone die at a young age? Was anyone forgotten? When I have a sense of where the issue might be centered, I ask you to chose people from the group to represent your family members, issues, events, or even places which might have a bearing on the issue. I will ask you to place each representative in the working space in the manner in which it feels 'right' to you.  When a representative is placed, they are connected to the Knowing Field of your family system. They begin to relate to one another in very specific visual and spatial ways. From these relationships, we can see what cannot normally be seen about the inner workings of the system, and we can see where blockages occur. By nudging the system and by encouraging representatives to use Healing Statements of simple truth about what is, we strengthen the system and increase the flows of love within it. Systemic Constellation is one of the only methods for examining and modifying trans-generational patterns within the family system. To have a successful constellation you don't need to bring any other members of your family with you! We can do deep work in constellations because you bring the complete Knowing Field of your family system with you. We work with the system itself when we do a constellation. You can bring any issue to the workshop to be constellated. In the past, clients have looked at issues such as these: Repeating Patterns Across The Generations Addiction Estrangement Loss of Fortune Repercussions of Immigration Physical Pain which defies treatment Eating Disorders and many more Constellation work looks into the systemic aspects of the issue, that is, the parts of the issue which lie in the system itself, rather than in individuals.

Why take a Homegrown Babies 3 day long Birth Doula training?   Our Doulas feel confident and prepared to begin doulaing immediately by the completion of the course. The Doula skills you will learn are adaptable to many settings, birth experiences, and outcomes. Expect the unexpected! Chama is dedicated to providing the highest level of adult education and is able to provide an individual experience at your training.  Whole brain learning! The course is designed using modern teaching methods that involve and engage the learner. You don’t just sit and take notes. Instead, you’ll be moving around the room, doing small group activities, and having fun. People learn best in social environments when they feel a sense of purpose and can show mastery over the new skills they’ve learned. The printed manual is 270 plus pages of useful handouts and reference materials, with an additional 30 pages of Homegrown handouts. You’ll meet people who are different from you who also want to learn doula skills! Doulas are needed in every community. Only by working together can we help to spread the word that people’s emotional needs in labor are important. All parents birthing babies are respected and so are the wide range of choices people make. But that may not be easy to implement in real life! So we learn how to do that together in a safe way, and figure out our own personal limits. (No one is the best doula for everyone! Not even me!) Evidence-based skills! You learn what works and why, from someone who reads new scientific literature on a monthly basis. Three days! Studies of behavioral change from Stanford University show that it takes three days to create lasting change, cement new skills, and transform attitudes. Doulaing can be a profession, a lifestyle, and an approach to life that incorporates acceptance and compassion. That one extra day is what cements learning and brings about high confidence levels. Current issues! We discuss obstetrical trends and social justice issues in a safe and respectful way for all attendees. You’ll leave knowing more about what to expect in social media, and how to use your energy to transform birth in your community for all kinds of laboring families The training dates and locations are as followed: Asheville NC       October 19-21 2018 Friday, March 16 and Saturday, March 17 beginning at 8 a.m. - 5 p.m., Sunday, March 18 from 8 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. Lunch is included in the training price. “How to Get Away with Unethical Behavior: Research on Decision Making” and “The Ethics of Self Care for Everyone Program Description: Most presentations and talks on ethics delineate what the Code of Ethics consist of and present case histories of what occurred in unethical behavior. This presentation utilizes a dynamic, research informed format which may assist students, professionals, and clients to become more self-aware; therefore, prevent or overcome ethical breaches. There are fascinating reasons why ethics are compromised and include but not limited: self-attribution, emotional states, creativity, altruistic beginnings, ego depletion, and moral erosion. This workshop will assist in preventing dishonorable breaches that include but are not limited to: monitoring, honor pledge, slow ethical consideration, moral saliency, and changing frame of reference. This presentation discusses how direct practice along with internal and external factors based upon science can accidently drain us dry. However, new research shows exactly what we can do regularly to continue to self-care for ourselves as well as maintain fantastic presence “to be there for others”. Learning Objectives: To introduce the variables in ethics violation and to share why people are dishonest. To provide the decision making influences and increase awareness to lower unethical behavior. To discuss ethical boundaries and increase proper ethical decision making Discuss direct practice and how it can drain us dry. Understand the rural nature of direct practice. Apply the research to increase self-care to continue to help others. Sean Pumphrey, MSW, LCSW is a psychotherapist at ECU Physicians (Brody School of Medicine) in the department of Family Medicine. Description:
Pleasure Evolution and Brad Leaf Amberheart invite. . . LADIES, GENTS, AND PEOPLE OF ALL GENDER IDENTITIES: As a giver: Learn to support, nourish, and EXCITE your male-bodied PARTNERS by helping us re-claim our relationship to our 1st Chakra, and the Evolutionary Pleasure Center known as the "Male G-Spot! As a receiver: Learn to surrender, receive and connect to your ecstatic body. Together we can activate a powerful source of life-giving pleasure, hence transforming a masculine-dominant cultural paradigm into one of creativity, joy, and life-giving vitality. Whether you are straight, bi, gay, or none-of-the above, if you have a PROSTATE and a healthy butt*, YOU have access to an extraordinary generator of PLEASURE for yourself AND for your lovers who are REALLY going to fully ENJOY you when you get so turned on you can't stand it!    *Even hemorrhoids or other 1st-chakra discomforts are no excuse for depriving yourself of pleasure.  This workshop will even show you methods for bringing love and nourishment to your ass which can result in miraculous healing, even if it starts by learning to give ourselves simple, motionless, external touch, and bearing witness to the healing which surges forth from that place of peace, comfort, and self-love.   Come Home and Help us reclaim the Sacred. The Male G-Spot is one of the most powerful (yet least employed) catalysts that men have available to generate PLEASURE.   In Tantra, we regard pleasure as one of the great healing powers.  The more pleasure we can generate, the more we can gain access to higher states of Vision and Ecstasy.  Higher states of Vision and Ecstasy provide vital insight, wisdom, and information for our life’s decisions.   Oh, if only more of our World Leaders could learn to play with their assholes!   Today, we’re inviting ourselves to be the leadership we seek in this world!   MODULE 1:  UNLOCKING THE SACRED TABOO RITUAL and CONSCIOUS HONORING are at the core of what we’re here to do this evening. Within a sacred, sweet, honoring container, we'll have a DEMONSTRATION of male anal/g-spot pleasure by a duo or two who are experienced in the art of giving, receiving, and generating high levels of ecstatic pleasure. There will also be a short primer about hygeine to help dispel old myths and open the way to more pleasure and FUN!  Many of us, sadly, have not yet had the opportunity to be in the presence of a man who is ecstatically activated by anal/prostate massage, and so…here is an opportunity to fully engage in conscious WITNESSING of this sacred and very powerful way of generating life-giving energy for ourselves, our loved ones, and this world.  You’re going to be invited to drum, sing, and dance, or just watch and learn, in accompaniment to these demos (rituals) of re-awakening.  Movement and song are actually the key elements which will help each of us move the energy and emotions which come up when doing such deep work and unlocking the sacred taboo.   Your presence as witness will, in itself, begin a much-needed planetary transformation which will help bring all of us some much-needed relief from the stress, anxiety, and competition which have ruled our world for far too long. Come help us! Thank you! We’ll close the evening with a heart circle so that all who have been present—in bravery, in joy, or in trepidation—can share whatever came up for them during the demos.  The opening of hearts will help prepare the group for the NEXT LEVEL, next week!  MODULE II:   Blazing the Trail Home to Bliss and Magic Get out your latex gloves and favorite lube!  It’s time for ACTION!  (Latex and non-latex gloves will actually be provided, as well as a a take-home sample of the best butt lube in the world, wild-crafted by our own faerie medicine person in Cherokee.) !***  We’re going to have an experienced male model or two on-hand so that YOU can explore the male anatomy and get some of those questions answered that you’re never had a chance to ask.  THEN, for all of you who are READY for some FUN, we’re going to have practice sessions!  If you’re a person with a prostate who thinks you might have a desire to EXPERIENCE G-Spot ecstasy this evening, please come prepared (see bradamberheart.com/buttplaybasics for some preparation suggestions). IF YOU DON'T FEEL YOU'RE UP FOR GIVING OR RECEIVING MALE G-SPOT MASSAGE THIS EVENING, NOT TO WORRY!  Your PRESENCE is what's most important. Witness. Support. Encourage. Honor this Sacred pleasure center which has been ignored in our recent culture. Our ultimate wish is to put to practice the valuable insights that we’ve gained, and to attract ever more opportunities for transformational pleasure!  Blessed Be. ***Note--if you think you might want to experiment with the art of GIVING the gift of g-spot pleasure this evening, or learning how to, then PLEASE TRIM YOUR FINGERNAILS 2 days in advance. If you’re a man who’s ready to experience the joys of receiving anal play, please go to this link to review some helpful tidbits about preparation and hygeine, which we’re also covering in Module I bradamberheart.com/buttplaybasics.  Thank you!***
