The self-guided tour, put on by the Asheville Board of Realtors’ eco-consultants division, will be 1-5 p.m. April 26.
A list of the homes and directions to each are on the event’s brochure, available at the Asheville Board of Realtors new office, 37 Montford Ave., Asheville (you can pick up a brochure beginning Monday; as of today, you can also download the brochure at www.green-hometour.com). For more, call Mike Figura at 337-8190.
The homes on the tour range from $121,000 at The Westcourt (a future LEED mixed-use condo development in West Asheville) to a $2,895,000 HealthyBuilt Silver home at the Cliffs of Walnut Cove.
“Just a few years ago, the first HealthyBuilt Home was constructed in North Carolina. Now there are 193 HealthyBuilt Homes listed on MLS,” said Figura, chairman of the eco-consultants division. “When we realized this, it just made sense to create a green home tour so that we could show the public the excellent green building that is occurring in Buncombe.”
The Buncombe Green Home Tour will feature existing green homes for sale as well as pre-construction green developments. Information will be available at the Asheville Board of Realtors on April 26 for pre-construction green developments that people cannot tour. Two landscape architects, David Tuch with Equinox Environmental and David Brannon with SiteRythems, will also talk about topics like sustainable land planning and environmental resource assessment at the Asheville Board of Realtors.
