ASHEVILLE NC – The A-B Tech Drama Club presents The Importance of Being Earnest at 7:30 p.m. April 12, 13, 19, 20 and 21 at the Carriage House Theatre on the Asheville campus.
The production is directed by A-B Tech drama instructor Peter Carver and features a cast of A-B Tech students and faculty including Allison Stinson as Lady Bracknell, Aaron Borgmann as Jack Worthing, Alex Lohman as Gwendolyn Bracknell, Ted Rolle as Algernon Moncrieff and Karma West as Cecily Cardew.
Written by Oscar Wilde, the play premiered in London in 1895 at St. James’s Theatre. Set in London and the English countryside during the late 19th century, The Importance of Being Earnest is a both a whimsical romantic comedy as well as a sharp-witted satire of Victorian society.
