Charlotte Street Animal Hospital Implements New ‘Cat Friendly Practice’

ASHEVILLE NC – With cats being the most beloved pet in our country, there is a growing need to improve the healthcare and overall well-being of the feline population. The staff at Charlotte Street Animal Hospital (CSAH) are committed to ensuring the best care for cats and recently implemented the Cat Friendly Practice (CFP) program to benefit feline patients and their caretakers.

The American Association of Feline Practitioners (AAFP) pioneered the CFP program to provide a framework for creating a knowledgeable, positive practice environment that supports cats’ unique needs. Accredited by the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA) since 1998, CSAH is proud to continue to uphold the highest standards while expanding their abilities to help even the most fearful felines.

“We are committed to providing quality care to our feline patients,” said Jaclyn Amber, DVM, of Charlotte Street Animal Hospital. “We evaluated every aspect of the practice and its environment from the perspective of the cat and we can proudly say that from the minute they walk through the door, our patients and clients will be part of a welcoming, comfortable experience that will ultimately lead to the improved health of our feline patients.”

The veterinary staff incorporates cat-friendly features into their physical and emotional environment. They are well-trained in interpreting feline body language and providing alternate techniques to help calm anxious cats and ensure that visits are as stress-free as possible.
