New Stores Opening in Historic Biltmore Village

ASHEVILLE NC – Biltmore Property Group, located in Historic Biltmore Village, is pleased to announce that Sotheby’s Premier International Realty and Soma, have signed leases to become part of the 10 Brook complex located in Historic Biltmore Village.

Both of these tenants are planning for an early Spring opening.   Soma, an intimate apparel boutique, will occupy 2,509 square feet while Sotheby’s Premier International Realty will have 2,758 square feet.

Diana Wortham Theatre Matinee Series 2016

Diana Wortham AshevilleASHEVILLE NC – Diana Wortham Theatre’s Matinee Series provides professional, curriculum-related shows at affordable costs, each season providing 10,000 children the opportunity to experience the theatre, works by professional dance companies, world-class puppetry, and the musical talents of renowned performers. The series is extremely popular with children, families, and teachers throughout Western North Carolina.

In the spring of 2016, the Matinee Series features two performances by renowned artist Joseph Cashore and his lifelike marionettes. On Friday, March 4, at 10:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m., enter the mesmerizing world that Cashore creates as his marionettes walk through the many phases of life in the performance, Simple Gifts. The Cashore Marionettes show is set to stunning works by Beethoven, Vivaldi, Strauss and Copland, creating a beautiful and vivid landscape for the tale.

The next performance to visit the stage is none other than Junie B.’s Essential Survival Guide to School, an all-new musical adventure presented by the talented actors of New York City-based Theatreworks USA, a highly acclaimed educational theatre company of professional equity actors that both tours throughout the year and performs Off-Broadway in NYC. Join Junie B. Jones Thursday and Friday, April 14 and 15, at 10:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. as she lays down the ultimate tips to surviving school, and gets into a bit of trouble along the way!

The Matinee Series season wraps with another Theatreworks USA production, Henry and Mudge, Wednesday and Thursday, May 4 and 5, at 10:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. Based on the beloved best-selling book series by Cynthia Rylant, this musical follows the adventures of Henry and Mudge as they traverse new neighborhoods and take on the fun of owning an affectionate pet.

Reservations for all performances in Diana Wortham Theatre’s 2015/2016 Matinee Series are being taken now. Please note that all group reservations for the 2015/2016 Matinee Series will require a deposit. The Y.E.S. The entrance for the Diana Wortham Theatre is marked by the location of the theatre’s marquee between 12 and 14 Biltmore Avenue. Patrons enter the theatre through the breezeway between Marble Slab Creamery and White Duck Taco, and into a large interior courtyard with multiple glass doors which lead to the theatre’s lower lobby and box office. The intimate theatre seats just over 500 and boasts exceptional acoustics and sightlines, making it the premier performance space in Western North Carolina. The Mainstage Series is supported by a grant from the North Carolina Arts Council, a state agency.
